Food is the highlight of my travels. I love food and I love trying new foods. I always enjoy finding the local specialties. I'm willing to try anything once - as long as it isn't coconut, cause gross. I was very excited on this trip to try many new foods, such as haggis, scotch eggs, and meat pies, but also to enjoy some finds that I had on my trip to Ireland - sticky toffee pudding, Cadbury chocolate, and Lemon Fanta.

Plane Food
Yeah, I'm starting here. It's never the best food, but it starts vacation. We flew United direct each way. We had dinner and a small snack each time. You can click to enlarge the pictures, if you really want to take a look. It wasn't the best food of the whole the trip.
London Food
It seems that all we did in London was eat. Honestly, I think Sean and I spent more time looking at food options than different typical tourist things to visit (Sean definitely did). I will say that the Indian Meal at Dishoom was my favorite overall meal of the entire trip. The Salt Beef Sandwich from Beigel Bake was probably one of my favorite items from the trip.

Snacks and Such
We had lots of snacks and goodies along the way. Some we picked up at grocery stores, some from bakeries and ice cream shops. Some were adult refreshments.
The only snack I think that I enjoyed too quickly to remember to get a picture of was my millionaire shortbread that I purchased with the rhubarb pie. I finished that pretty quickly on the bus ride back to the hotel. It was mighty good. |

Breakfast
|
Most of the breakfasts were enjoyed at the hotel. We only had two days that the breakfast was not included, which were the two days we added at the Bonham Hotel. The first day we went to a little place in Edinburgh called The Painted Rooster near the hotel. This was The. Best. Breakfast. I had smoked salmon and avocado toast. I would have went there every day of the trip. The other day was our last day, so we had breakfast at the airport before leaving.
I did not take picture of each breakfast. The Bonham and Dunkeld House had the same buffet each morning with eggs, sausage, bacon, haggis, black pudding, breads, yogurt, fruit, porridge, etc. At Glenmoriston in Inverness we had a menu to order from each morning, plus a small buffet of breads, yogurt, and fruit. At Glenburnie in Oban, we had different breakfasts served by the family. |
